Vijay Deverakonda is an Indian actor who is well known for his work in Telugu cinema. He was born on 9 May 1989 in Achampet, Nagarkurnool district of Telangana. He was born to a Telugu Director Deverakonda Govardhan Rao and his mother Deverakonda Madhavi.
Vijay began his career by playing the role of a cricketer opposite of Yami Gautam in the film Nuvvila which was directed by Ravi Babu in 2011. Then he got a small role in the film Life is Beautiful. Both films got major success at Box Office but Vijay did not catch more recognition. Later he met to an assistant director named Nag Ashwin who cast him in a supporting role in the film Yevade Subramanyam opposite actor Nani in 2015. The film was produced by Ashwini Dutt’s daughters Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt. This film again got the major success at the box office but this time Vijay also got more popularity and won high praise for his diction and energy.
Deverakonda made his debut as a lead role by the film Pelli Choopulu which was directed by Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam. He film was a commercially successful and won him the Best Feature Film in Telugu at the 64th National Film Awards. He again received praise for his role of a lazy chef. In the year 2017, he appeared in the film Dwaraka in which he received mixed reviews but the film flopped at the box office. In the same year, his next film was Arjun Reddy which was commercially successful at the box office and won him several awards. Later he gave back to back hit films to Telugu cinema including Mahanati, Geetha Govindam, NOTA and Taxiwala etc.
