She was very much interested in sports activities and competed in athletics at the National level. Her father is Gujarati and the mother is Lebanese. Tulip’s parents did not want her to work in movies or commercials but she continued to do so, as a result her father broke all the relations with her due to which she had to see a bad phase in her life for some time. After a two-year break from the movies, she reappeared in Matrubhoomi - a serious movie about female foeticide. Her performance in it was widely acclaimed. Dhokha, another movie in which her acting was appreciated. After that, Tulip did a Telugu film, Villain. Her next Bollywood movie was Dil Mange More opposite Shahid Kapoor along with Ayesha Takia and Soha Ali Khan.
