She dropped out of college after completing her first year of B.Com to make her career in the modeling industry. Her father was an employee in Life Insurance Corporation and mother is a housewife. Her sister’s name is Ishita Dutta, who is also an actress and model. Tanushree has learned Indian classical music and is a great singer though she never showcased her talent professionally.
Tanushree took part in beauty pageants in Pune in 2003, she also appeared in music videos, stage shows, Bengali show on local TV, and Bangladeshi ad campaigns and several prints and commercial assignments and finally took part and win the title at the Miss India pageant in 2004 which was a turning point in her career. She made her debut with Ashiq Banaya Apne which was a box office success and the music of the movie was loved by everyone. She also acted in the movie Chocolate which wasn’t a blockbuster. She proved her talent by working in movies like Rokkk, Apartment, and Ramaa the savior. After the release of the movie Ramaa the savior, she decided to take a break from the Bollywood industry and she went on to experience her different interests like yoga, adventure sports, spirituality etc. Tanushree returned in the glam industry in the year 2013 with glamorous appearances at various events.
