Simran Kaur Mundi, famous under the name of Simran Mundi was born on September 13, 1988. She was born in Mumbai, and originally she belongs to a Jat Sikh family from Mundian Jatta, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. Her schooling includes studying in Delhi Public School, Vijaipur, Guna, Madhya Pradesh and Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. She completed her graduation in Bio-Technology from Holkar College of Science Indore in 2007. She moved back to Mumbai after completing her studies and worked with Fame Cinemas in Andheri. She was noticed and motivated by Bharat & Dorris, famous make-up artist to compete in Femina Miss India 2008 Pageant. She participated and won Femina Miss India 2008 Pageant, without any previous experience.
After winning the title, she took up modeling as a career and was seen in various fashion shows. She was also seen in a Punjabi Video and endorsing various commercials. Her television career started in 2011 when she was seen in a reality game show ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’, anchored by Shah Rukh Khan. She made her debut as a host for Hockey India League in 2013. Her debut Bollywood movie ‘Jo Hum Chahein’ was released in 2011, for which she was appreciated. She also made her Punjabi debut opposite Gippy Grewal in “Best of Luck”. She was seen in a Tollywood movie ‘Potugadu’ which was also her debut movie. She was also seen in movies like Kuku Mathur ki Jhand Ho Gayi and Mundeyan Toh Bachke Rahin in 2014. Recently she appeared in film U Me Aur Ghar.
