Shikhar Dhawan who took birth on 5th December 1985 is a professional Indian cricketer. He is a left-handed opening batsman and also bowls as right arm off break bowler. Shikhar plays for Delhi in domestic cricket & Sunrises Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
Before making his first-class debut for Delhi, Dhawan played for Indian U-17 and U-19 teams. At the 2004 U-19 cricket world cup, Shikhar was the player of the tournament and had a record of most run in the single U-19 world cup.
Shikhar was born to Mahendra Pal Dhawan & Sunaina Dhawan in a Punjabi Family. He has a younger sister, Shreshta Dhawan. He completed his school education from St. Marks Senior Secondary Public School located in Paschim Vihar, Delhi.
At the age of 12, Shikhar joined Sonnet Cricket Club under the guidance of Tarak Sinha. Dhawan joined the club as a wicket keeper and later turned into the batsman. Dhawan married (2012) to Ayesha Mukherjee who already had two daughters (Rhea and Aliyah) from her previous marriage and gave birth to boy Zoravar in 2014.
