Ranjit Bawa is a well known Punjabi artist. Within a short span of time he gained quite much popularity because of his songs and albums. He is a professional singer and performs in live shows as well as in concerts. Besides singing, he also work as lyricist and musician too. He was born on 15 February, 1989 in Amritsar, Punjab. His hometown is Gurdaspur and currently staying in Chandigarh. His original name is Ranjit Singh. He is famous for his genre Punjabi folk and Bhangra. He did his college from Khalsa college, and completed masters in music from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Ranjit Bawa is one of the most famous and dynamic singers of Punjab music industry. He considered Master Mangal as his mentor and due to his huge passion in singing he sang a Pakistani song “bol mtti deya baweya” because of which he was famous and known as ‘Bawa’ and named himself as Ranjit Bawa. In 2011 his first song in multi artist album mulajhedariyan was out.
His album ‘Jatt De Akal’ brought him a lot of success. He received award for his superhit song ‘Jean’. He had also won Punjabi music best folk oriented vocalist award. Few of his other blockbuster songs are Ranjha, Rab Fateh, Karaye, Ankh Seedhi, Sadi Wari Aun De, Alaap- Desh Mere, Desh Mere, Tracking Pahadan Te, Assi Pinda Wale, Sire Di Haseen, Jean, Kudi tu Pataka, Jatt di Akal, Charan Likhari, Love India etc.
