Rajinikanth took birth on 12th December 1950 in Maratha family in Bangalore. His father was a police constable while his mother was a housewife. Rajinikanth completed his school education from Gavipuram Government Kannada Model Primary School. After completed his school education, the actor performed various jobs including Carpenter, Coolie and lastly got recruited as a bus conductor in Bangalore Transport Service. He began acting in plays while working as a bus conductor. Rajinikanth came across with an advertisement of Madras Film Institute.
His parent doesn’t support his decision to join acting course while his co worker encourages him and supported Rajinikanth financially to join Madras Film Institute. Rajinikanth was recognized by Tamil film director K. Balachander during a stage play. Balachander gave Rajinikanth his breakthrough by offering a role in Tamil Film Apoorva Raagangal. The film received critical acclaim and won 3 National Film Awards.
Rajinikanth didn't look back after that and gave several super hit movies. Rajinikanth became the highest paid actor in Asia after his movie Shivaji for which he earned 26 crores. In 2000, Rajinikanth was awarded with Padma Bhushan award while in 2016 he was awarded Padma Vibhushan award. Till 2014, Rajinikanth has won 6 Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
