Dr. Rahat Indori is a popular Urdu Poet and a lyricist. Rahat Indori was born on January 1st, 1950 in Indore Madhya Pradesh. His father named Rafatullah Qureshi was a cloth mill worker, and his mother Maqbool Un Nisa Begum was a housewife. He pursued his school education from Nutan School Indore, his graduation from Islamia Karimia College (ikdc) Indore and post graduation from Barkatullah University. He always had a liking for prose and poetry, therefore, did his PHD in Urdu literature from the Bhoj University of Madhya Pradesh. His first job was as a teacher of Urdu at IK College where he got engaged in poems and ash'aars. Due to his poetic brilliance, he soon had a massive fan following not just in India but all over the world. He started travelling to different countries like USA, Singapore, Kuwait, Bahrain, UK, Nepal etc to recite his brilliant poetries. He is also a well-known Bollywood lyricist and has worked for various films like Khuddar, Mission Kashmir, Munna Bhai MBBS etc. Some of the famous books which have his poems and ghazals are Chand Pagal Hai, Dhoop Bohot Hai, Mere Baad, Maujood and Naraz. He is the recipient of a number of awards. Some of them are Kamal Madrasi Memorial Award, Mirza Ghalib Award, Urdu Award, Ishrat Award, Jagjit Singh Award and the list goes on. Rahat Indori also has a youtube channel where his fans can listen to his amazing poetries. This youtube channel was started on 16th Feb 2017 and till date, it has 18,066 subscribers.
