Piyush Vedprakash Goyal born on 13th June 1964 son of Late Shri Ved Prakash Goyal, he served as a Union Minister of Shipping in the cabinet of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Chandrakanta Goyal, she was a Three-time MLA from Maharashtra.
Piyush was always an excellent student, he was always interested in studies, he holds a record of All India Second Rank Holder in Chartered Accountant and in Mumbai University also was the Second rank holder in Law. His interest in studies always motivated him to participate in new things and excel in shining colours, he participated in many Leadership programmes in 2011 he participated Yale University, in 2012 at Oxford University, in 2013 participated in Princeton Unversity and is currently studying at Harvard Business school in Owner/ President Management (OPM) program.
Did his basic study at Don Bosco High School, Matunga. He is a very renowned Investment Banker, he advises many companies on how to manage strategy and growth. Goyal was a member of the Ministry of Defence as the Standing Committee on Finance and the Consultative Committee. Has involved with various NGOs in many ways such as for poor and tribal people Education and also for the welfare of the physically challenged. In his 28 years long career, he has served in many important positions in BJP. And he was also nominated for the Interlinking of Rivers by the Government of India. In 1991, was the Dy. Campaign In- Charge for Parliament elections. On 26 January 2015, when US president Barack Obama, Piyush was the minister in waiting. He was also elected as the BJP candidate from Maharashtra on 3rd June 2016.
Piyush is a married man, the name of his wife is Seema Goyal. He confirms that under his ministry, around 13,134 remote villages got electricity out of 18,452 by April 2017. To revive Debt-Ridden Power, he launched the Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojna (UDAY) in 2015. He also revised 20,000 MW of solar power which was the target of government by 2022 to five times. During the second cabinet reshuffle, Piyush Goyal was given the post of Minister of Mines from Narendra Singh Tomar on July 5, 2016. Also became the Minister Of Railway on 3rd September 2017.
