Nitin Jairam Gadkari born on 27th May 1957 aged 60 years in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. Currently, he is Minister Of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation in Indian Government. From 2010 – 2013, he served in the Bhartiya Janta Party as the President. Popularly known for constructing a series of roads, highways and flyovers in Maharashtra and also the Mumbai – Pune Expressway during his tenure as Public Works Department Minister of Maharashtra. He grabbed his degree in M.Com and L. L. B from the University of Nagpur. He is married to Kanchan Gadkari and the couple has 3 children. From 1995 – 1999 he worked as the Minister of Public Works Department for the Government of Maharashtra.
Nitin is always in favour of Privatisation and he also campaigned for investing in Private firms. He also did various meetings between diverted large amounts of budgeted projects and private investors, contractors, and builders. For Rural connectivity the state government allocated Rs. 7 Billion. By keeping his work in view the Union Government appointed him as the Chairman of National Rural Road Development Committee. After his series of Research, Gadkari submitted his report to Prime Minister Of India. Narender Modi Ji liked his idea and launched new yojna named Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna and it cost around Rs. 600 Billion.
He has served in various positions like he was the Ex Minister in Government of Maharashtra, was the Chairman of Purti Group of Companies, was the President of BJP for Maharashtra State, was Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council, also a Former Minister for Public Works department, Maharashtra State, Member of Legislative Council, Maharashtra State, was elected in 1989 to the Maharsahtra Government Legislative Council from graduates Constituency, Nagpur Region, in 1990 was Re-elected, in 1996 was Re-elected and in 2002 elected unopposed, is the ex member of the committee for Privatisation in Government of Maharsahtra, Ex- Guardian Minister for Nagpur District, Government of Maharashtra, is also the Ex Chairman for Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, India, Ex- Chairman for Mining policy Implementation Committee, Government of Maharashtra, Ex- Chairman in Metropolis Beautification Committee, Government of Maharashtra, also a Chairman of Review Committee of CPWD, Government of India, State President of Bhartiya Janta Party, Maharashtra, was National President of BJP, India, is the Ex Leader of Opposition, Maharsahtra Legislative Council, Chairman of National Rural Road Development Committee.
