Narendra Singh Negi born on 12th August 1949 in Uttarakhand, India is a prominent Garhwali singer in the region of Uttarakhand. By profession, he is a folk singer and music composer. He started his music career by launching his album “Garhwali Geetmala”, it comes in 10 different parts. He was finding very difficult to manage the songs in one album, as all the songs were of different companies. So he shifted his career in releasing his cassettes by giving them separate titles. He released his first album named Burrans, in which he sang more than 1000 songs.
Famous singers like Udit Narayan, Asha Bhosle, Anuradha Paudwal, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and many more singers sing in Garhwali films under his music direction. He prefers composing folk genre songs, but he is a lyricist as well whose lyrics depict a huge range of tension, anxieties and human insights. His song like Naya Zamana Ka Choron, shows generational gaps, his song Bol Chitthi Kile Ni Bhezi, tells about the pure adolescent love and his song Teri Doohana Lagyun Cha, depicts about the pain of people losing their homes because of Tehri Dam.
