To start with, Mohammed Shami started his cricket at the age of 15 when like all the other children he used to play cricket in the streets. However, as the luck would have it, his father got hold of his potential and took him to the local mentor Badrrudin Siddiqui who trained him for almost one year for his selections in the UP cricket board, but due to some reason he was not selected and his year was wasted. Though he was willing to wait for yet another year, his coach asked his parents to send him to Kolkata instead.
On reached Kolkata, he was selected for Dalhousie Athlete Club where he played cricket and from here there was no looking back for this young player. Soon he was seen playing in the IPL in which he was taken for whopping 4. 25 crores which were huge for a newcomer like him. He earlier played for Kolkata Knight Riders and later he had also played for Delhi Daredevils. He has been part of several international games as well and has played some amazing cricket against Australia, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, West Indies and more.
He was born into a simple family, his father is a farmer in UP. He has three brothers and one sister incidentally all of them wanted to be a fast paced bowler.
