He was born on 19 April 1983 (age 38 years according to 2021) in Thoppumpady, Ernakulam, Kerala, India. His father’s name is Late Shri George Eden (former Ernakulam MP) and his mother’s name is Late Smt. Rani Edenon. Hibi Eden started his political career as a candidate for The Indian National Congress. He has been the president of the NSUI (the National students, the swing of The Indian National Congress). Hibi Eden was appointed to the general secretary of the KSU led Union at Sacred Heart College, Thevara. He has been State Committee President of the Kerala Students Union. He was the youngest person who made the member of the Legislative Assembly of Kerala from Ernakulam constituency in 2011 and was re-elected to the same position in 2016. In 2019, he was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha from Ernakulam constituency with which he was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee on Urban Development, member of Library Committee, and member of Consultative Committee of Ministry of Shipping. He has also been represented India in many seminars like Common Wealth Seminar, European Union Visitors Programme (EUVP), World Climate Change Conference, Lyon France, etc. He is a former Syndicate Member of CUSAT, Governing Council, and Member of Kerala University for Fisheries and Oceanographic Studies (KUFOS). Currently, Hibi is a devout member of the Keralite Latin Catholic community.
