Hardik Patel is one of the popular faces that can be seen on the news channels in India these days. He came into limelight as a political activist in India and he want to add Patidar Caste in the list of Other Backward Class (OBC). He is campaigning for it, so that the people from this caste also get reservations in government jobs and in education field too. According to him, he is very much inspired from the great activists of India who fought for the Independence like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad and Sardar Patel. Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) is a non political organization formed by Hardik Patel in order to fight for adding up the Patidar caste in the OBC Category. There is a story behind the formation of this organization. His sister Monika who was trying for the scholarship of State Government and was failed in qualifying for it but one of her friend who was having less score then her was selected for the scholarship and it was because, she was in OBC Category. Then Hardik decided to form this organization. On 20 July, 1993, he took birth in a Gujarati Patidar family. He is the son of Bharat and Usha Patel. His parents were very much concerned about their children’s studies. He was very passionate about cricket from his childhood days and in studies, he was average. Hardik’s father was a former worker in BJP and he used to do the business of fixing submersible pumps in underground water wells. As Hardik completed hi school life, he started helping his father in his business. He completed his graduation with degree of B. Com. from Sahajanand College, Ahmedabad in the year 2013. He took 2 attempts to get graduated from college. While persuing his graduation, he was elected as the general secretary of the student’s union in his College and the interesting thing was that he was not even challenged by anyone for this post. This year, 2015, he is quite a known face in the news as he did many rallies. He gave speeches against Prime Minister Narender Modi in which he says that PM is not fulfilling the promises done by him at the time of elections. On 6^th July 2015, he started his first rally in Visnagar, Gujarat and he used social media to reach out the supporters. “Jai Sardar” is the slogan, he used in his rallies and speeches. Thereafter he did many rallies with millions of people. Another rally took place of on 25^th August, 2015, where they declared the day as "Patidar Kranti Diwas ("Patidar Revolution Day"). He was also arrested on the same day by Ahemadabad City Police.  As rally was so huge, Gujarat State Government was forced to impose curfew and ordered Army to interfere. On 9^th Septembber 2015, Patel Navnirman Sena (PNS) was launched by him. The purpose of this was to join the Kurmis and Gujjars with the Patidars, so as the fight for the reservations. Recently, he again was on the news channels as there was a cricket match between India and South Africa on 18^th October, 2015, he was detained from the match. As per news, he was trying to disrupt that match and a case was registered against him in Rajkot for insulting the Tricolour and on the same next day, he was again booked for Sedition as for alledging comments on Gujarat Police and comments were like ‘Killing Cops’.
