Gautam Adani born on 24th June 1962 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India age 55 years. His parents are father Shantilal Adani and mother Shanata Adani, his parents are migrants from the northern part of Gujarat named Tharad, Gautam has 7 siblings. Adani went to Sheth Chimalal Nagindas Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad, and pursued his graduation from Gujarat University in Commerce, but dropped out after the second year.
Gautam Adani is married to Priti Adani, a well-renowned dentist and also the heads the Adani Foundation, the couple has two sons named Karan Adani and Jeet Adani. Gautam is one of the Indian Billionaire businessmen who founded the ADANI GROUP and he is the chairman of the group as well. In September 2017, a very popular magazine FORBES estimated his worth to be $8.81 Billion. In 1988, Adani Group was founded by Gautam which deals in coal trading, mining, oil & gas exploration, agriculture and many more. Previously Adani used to work as a diamond sorter at Mahindra Brothers for two years, after learning there Adani opened his own diamond brokerage business in Mumbai, India. After some time his elder brother named Mahasukh Adani, called him back to Ahmedabad to help him run his newly purchased plastic factory.
Under the Bombay Public Charity Trusts Act of 1950, Adani Foundation was founded in 1996 and was registered under this Act, and was registered under Society’s Registration Act 1860. It mainly operated in Gujarat but now it also operated in many states such as Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh. In 1988, Gautam started his enterprises named Adani Enterprises Limited, which is a flagship of the Adani Group. It trades in many varieties of power and agricultural commodities. In 1991, when new economic liberalization was introduced it helped his business to get huge profitability of Adani Exports. In 2006, Adani Exports renamed as Adani Enterprises Limited. The Government of Gujarat invited many private companies to run the Mundra Port in 1993, then the contract was given to Adani Group in 1995. Adani also runs Adani Power Ltd. (APL), has thermal power plants. Now it is also the largest solar power producer in India.
