Gajendra Singh Rana aka Gajendra Rana was born in Delhi but he belongs to a village named Gend which comes under Nagri region of Chamba, Tehri District. He did his basic education till 4th class in the village and then completed his rest of education from Senior Sec. School, Malviya Nagar and further completed his graduation from Aurobindo College, Delhi University. during his school days, he was a very active participant in school dramas and music. He shifted to Delhi because his father was posted in Dalmia. Gajendra married Beena and the couple has a daughter named Shivangi. Now they have shifted to Clementon, Dehradun.
Rana started his professional music career in the year 1998, and released his debut album named Meru Gaun Ku Baatu, as his first album was not a great success, he released 3 more albums in the market after some time, in hope of them becoming a success but failed. He lost all the hopes and was leaving his singing career behind but decided to give the last chance and released is new album named Leela Ghasyari, this time his album became successful. Later he got an offer to sing a song for a big label named T-Series and till now he sings for that label.
Some of his super hit albums are Leela Ghasyari, Raani Ghursyaani, Sushma, Gabru Dida, Baand Bhanumati and Chakna Baand and many more. His one song named Babli Tero Mobile became very popular among young generation.
His upcoming album is Chori 420 under music label T-Series, shooting is pending because of the weather as there are heavy rainfall and huge landslide taking place. He always says that Uttarakhand music needs improvement as their pattern to produce folk songs has now become outdated; they should experiment with new patterns.
