He was born on 28 August 1961 in Mumbai, India. He did his college education from Narsee Monje College in his hometown. After completion of studies, he joined an amateur theater group, Aamir Khan, Parel Rawal, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vipul shah was also the member of the same group. His first important role came in movie Aashiqui, he plays the role of protagonist friend in this movie. He was also the contestant of TV reality show in Bigg Boss season 1. His wife is a very famous fashion designer. After getting success in movies he decided to become a director. He directed his first movie in the year 2003, which was an adult film about male strippers Oops!. He started his Television production house also named as Tijori Films, one of his popular TV serial was Rishtey, and He also acted himself in TV serial Bombay Blue.
