Central University of Bihar (CUB) is located in Patna, Bihar. Presently, the University is located at the premises of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Patna, Bihar from where the university operates. Soon, the University is likely to be located at Panchanpur, app. 10kms from Gaya on Defence land and that’s going to be permanent location of the University. The University has also decided to launch new academic programmes at Gaya. Central University of Bihar is also known as CUB in short. In 2009, the Government of India under the Central Universities Act (Section 25 of 2009) established the Central University of Bihar which is among the sixteen newly established Central Universities. The motive of the university is to serve the nation and particularly the people of Bihar. The University administration is very strict on ragging and takes it very seriously. The placement record of Central University of Bihar (CUB) has been good till now. Patna is a well known city in India and it is will connected by road rail. So reaching CUB is not a difficult task. The University also takes the women security very seriously. The University has made a “Task Force” to bestow security and protection to the women in the University Campus as well as in the Hostels, so that they can feel safe in the working and learning environment. The Chancellor of the Central University of Bihar (CUB) is Hon’ble Smt. Meira Kumar who is the Speaker of Lok Sabha and also the first lady Speaker of Lok Sabha. The Vice-Chancellor of the University is Prof. Janak Pandey. Central University of Bihar offers undergraduates and postgraduates programmes to the students. Some of the courses offered by the university are BA LLB (Hon’s), BSc. LLB (Hon’s), B.Ed, M.Sc (in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Life Science, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Environmental Science), M.Tech (Computer Science), M.A. (in Development Studies, Economics, Political Science & International Relations, Sociology, Psychology, English, Hindi, Communication & Media Studies). The facilities which are being provided by the university to the students are Library, Hostels, Transport Facility, Medical Aid and many more.
