Binny Bansal was born in Chandigarh, he is a co-founder of Flipkart with Sachin Bansal, he also belongs to the same place Chandigarh and both of them have studied from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in computer science engineering. He currently lives in Bangalore, with his parents, where his father is a retired chief manager and his mother works in a government sector.
Binny Bansal worked on Amazon for some time, earlier he was rejected by Google two times. Binny and his business partner Sachin Bansal, first they had an idea to start a comparison search engine, but later realized that it’s a very small market, then after sometime, they founded Flipkart as an E-commerce company. Sachin and Binny Bansal launched Flipkart with a money in the amount of Rs. 4 lakhs from an apartment in Bangalore.
In their earlier days, they used to deliver books across Bengaluru on their scooters in 2007. Before working in Amazon, Binny used to work for Sarnoff Corporation for 1.5 years, where his work was to develop a lane sensor device for cars which would warn the driver and beep automatically if the driver changes the lane. Binny Bansal’s net worth is $950 million. Binny has been awarded many awards such as he was on 86th position in the list of 100 richest people in India by Forbes in September 2015, after then by INDIA TODAY he was ranked 26th in India’s 50 Most Powerful People 2017.
