BHIM abbreviation for Bharat Interface for Money is a UPI (United Payment Interface) based app. This app which is currently available only for android users will soon be available for every mobile phone be it a smartphone or a phone worth Rs 1000. This app will allow people to make simple payments directly through their bank accounts. It is a very user-friendly app where you don’t have to load the money like that in an online wallet. It is a revolutionary app as it can be used by every single citizen of the country from top businessman to farmers. There is no need to have internet connectivity to access this app. It requires only your Thumb. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has developed this app and currently can be downloaded from Google Play Store. Using this app is very simple and doesn’t require any rocket science. After the download register your bank account through BHIM and set a UPI pin and start transacting. The mobile number will work as a payment address. Money can be received or send to a phone number. QR code can also be scanned to make any payment. Money can also be sent to non-UPI banks through IFSC using BHIM. If you don’t have an android phone then you just have to dial *99# to access it without the use of Internet. There is a maximum of Rs. 10,000 per transaction permitted, and Rs. 20,000 within 24 hours. The banks which are supported by BHIM are Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Axis Bank, Catholic Syrian Bank, Federal Bank, HDFC Bank, Central Bank of India, DCB Bank, Dena Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, IndusInd Bank, IDFC Bank, Indian Bank, Karnataka Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Karur Vysya Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab National Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, RBL Bank, South Indian Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, State Bank of India, Syndicate Bank and Vijaya Bank.
