Bastar University is a major institution of post graduation. The Bastar University is well known for its eminence research. Bastar University is also known as Bastar Vishwavidyalaya (BVV). Bastar University is located in Jagdalpur, Bastar, Chhattisgarh, India. The University was established on 2^nd September, 2008. The university is fully financed by the State Government of Chhattisgarh. There are 30 colleges affiliated under Bastar University. The university is having good infrastructure with airy classrooms and having a large collection of more than 20,000 books in their library. The Chancellor of Bastar University is Sh. Shekhar Dutt who is the Honorable Governor of Chhattisgarh. He is also an IAS officer and and served as a Secretary in the Ministry of Defence of the Government of India. The Vice Chancellor of Bastar University is Prof. N.D.R. Chandra. Bastar University offers undergraduates, postgraduates and Ph.D programs.  Some of the programs offered by the university are B.A., BCA, B.Com, B.Sc. (in various streams), B.Ed, LLB, LLM, M.Ed, M.Sc., M.A., M.C.A., M.Com and many more. The facilities which are being provided by the university to the students are Hostel Facility, Computer Lab, Sports Facility and NSS/NCC.
