Akbarrudin Owaisi is a Politician from Hyderabad, Telangana. He is an MLA of Telangana Legislative Assembly. He was elected as an MLA for Chandrayangutta Constituency in 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014. In 2004, he became the floor leader of MIM.
On 14 June 1970, he was born to a Politician named “Sultan Salahudin Owaisi”. He is the younger brother of Assaduddin Owaisi. He did his schooling from Hyderabad public school till 10th grade and completed his intermediate from St. Marry Junior College. He was a medical student but quit his MBBS study and moved in politics. He married a Christian woman who changed to Islam. Initially the marriage was opposed by his father but later in 1998, his father forgave him. His father established a hospital for the welfare of Muslims named 'Owaisi Hospital’ and he is serving as the Managing Director over there.
He is well known for his controversial speeches. In 2007, he made dead threats against Tasleema Nasreem. In 2011 in a rally he used some derogatory terms which later hyped by his opposition and he again came in bad limelight. Most of time he made unpleasant remarks on Hindu God and Goddesses which hurt the sentiments of Hindu Mob. In 2012, he passed vilify remarks on Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh, Bhartiya Janta Party and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Narendra Modi and many more at Adilabad Rally. On December 2012, a lawyer K. Karunasagar filed a case against him for hurting the sentiments of Hindu and for making offensive remarks. In 2013, a case against him was filed in Mumbai and Vadodra Court served a notice against him. He was criticized by several notable people for the speeches.
