Karthik Sivakumar well known as Karthi born on 25th May 1977 age 40 years in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is a popular Tamil Film Actor. He also has a younger brother named Suriya. Did his schooling from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan and also from St. Bede’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Chennai. Did his graduation from Crescent Engineering College, Chennai in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he started earning 5000 rupees per month and considered for Higher Studies Abroad. Karthi got a scholarship in the United Stated for completing his Higher Studies, and got admission in New York at Binghamton University, and did his Masters of Science in Industrial Engineering.
While doing his masters, he attended classes for Film Making also. Karthi also worked as a Graphic Designer as a part-time work. He attended two courses in basic filmmaking in New York at State University. He returned to India for becoming Film Director and worked as Assistant Director under Mani Ratnam. Made his acting debut in 2007 with movie Paruthiveeran, he won many awards Filmfare Award for Best Actor and also a State Nandi Award. His next movie was Aayirathil Oruvan in 2010 as Coolie.
He has many Commercial hits such as Paiyaa in 2010, Naan Mahaan Alla in 201o and 2011 in Siruthai. He has many flops such as Biriyani in 2013, Madras in 2014, Oopiri in 2106 and Kaatru Veliyidai in 2017. From 2004 he started his career with movie Aayth Ezhuthu as Michael’s Friend, then in 2007 in Paruthiveeran as Paruthiveeran, then in 2010 in movies Aayirathil Oruvan as Muthu, in Paiyaa as Siva, in Naan Mahaan Alla as Jeeva Prakasam, in 2011, in Siruthai as Rathnavel Pandian, in Ko as Himself, in 2012 in Saguni as Kamlakannan.
In 2013 in Alex Pandian as Alex Pandian, in Biriyani as Sugan, then in 2014 in Madras as Kaali, then in 2015 in Komban as Kombaya Pandian, then in 2016 in Oopiri and Thozha as Seenu, in Kaashmora as Kaashmora/ Raj Nayak, then in 2017 in kaatru Veliyidai as Varun Chakrapani, in Theeran Adhigaram Ondru as Theeran. He married Ranjani in 2011 and the couple has a Daughter named Umayaal.
