Hyderabad: Nirmal district witnesses a significant stride towards women's safety as the state women safety wing inaugurated six new 'Bharosa Centres' on Sunday.

The Bharosa Centres, operational from rented premises currently, are set to be shifted to a modern facility constructed using corporate social responsibility funding. The inaugural event saw the presence of notable dignitaries including Shikha Goel, additional director-general, Nirmal Sessions Judge A. Karnakumar, and district police superintendent G. Janaki Sharmila. Their attendance underscores the collective commitment towards bolstering safety measures and strengthening the support infrastructure for vulnerable individuals in the district.

These Bharosa Centres play a pivotal role in addressing contemporary forms of crime against women and children, providing assistance in cases ranging from exploitation to violence. Since their establishment, the centres have dealt with numerous cases, including 4,782 Pocso Act cases related to crimes against minors and 1,163 cases of rape. This underscores the pressing need for such dedicated support mechanisms and the crucial role they play in seeking justice and rehabilitation for victims.
