What is the Salary of an Ayurvedic Medical Officer at Ayush Vibhag, Himachal Pradesh?

In accordance with the Government decision dated 09.05.2022, the Ayush Vibhag of Himachal Pradesh has initiated the appointment of Ayurvedic Medical Officers across several districts. This article provides an overview of the salary structure and related details for these positions.

Notification Overview

The Government of Himachal Pradesh has decided to fill vacant posts of Ayurvedic Medical Officers in the districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur. Following the recommendations of the Departmental Selection Committee, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh has approved these appointments.

Salary Structure

The Ayurvedic Medical Officers will be appointed on a contract basis with fixed emoluments. The salary is set at Rs. 29,220 per month, which is equal to 60% of the first cell of level-16 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 48,700 - 1,54,300).

Eligibility and Application Process

Essential Qualifications:

1. Recognized degree in Ayurveda of not less than 5 years duration from a recognized University/Board established by law or institution recognized by the Government/CCIM.
2. Compulsory Rotatory Internship wherever required by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).

Age Limit:

• The age limit for applicants is 45 years and below as on 01.01.2023, with relaxations for ST and other categories as per state government instructions.

Other Conditions:

1. The posts are to be filled on a contract basis.
2. Applicants must be bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.
3. The selected candidates may be appointed in any district as per the requirements.
