West Godavari District Court Issues Circular for Submission of Data on Stayed Matters and LPC Conversions

The Principal District Court of West Godavari, Eluru, has issued a circular dated August 16, 2024, directing all Judicial Officers in the District Unit to submit detailed information regarding stayed matters by the Hon’ble High Court, as well as cases that have been converted into long pending cases (LPC). The information is to be compiled and forwarded to the Hon’ble High Court by August 17, 2024.

The circular outlines the following key instructions for the Judicial Officers:

Submission of Data on Stayed Matters:

  • Judicial Officers are required to provide a list of cases that have been stayed by the Hon’ble High Court, including details such as the name of the court, trial court case number, High Court main case number, and the status of the stay order.

Details of LPC Conversions:

  • Officers must also submit information on cases that have been converted into long pending cases (LPC), detailing the date of crime, the date of conversion, and other relevant case information.

Vacancy Positions:

  • The circular requests information on the current vacancy positions for Prosecutors, Additional Public Prosecutors (PPs), and Assistant PPs in each court within the district.

Specific Data Required

The circular includes a template for the following data:

Stayed Matters by the High Court:

  • The name of the court, trial court case number, High Court case number, stay order details, and the current status in trial court are to be recorded.

LPC Conversion Details:

  • Information required includes the name of the court, trial court calendar case number, the date from which the case was converted into LPC, and any relevant remarks.

Vacancy Position of PPs and Assistant PPs:

  • The template asks for the number of Prosecutors/Additional PPs working in each court, the number of Assistant PPs, and the current vacancy position.

Deadline and Submission Instructions

Judicial Officers are instructed to submit the compiled data in both digital and hard copy formats by August 17, 2024. The information should be sent to the Principal District Court at Eluru for onward submission to the Hon’ble High Court.
