Temporary Unavailability of E-Filing at Small Causes Court, Mumbai from 7th to 9th August 2024

The Small Causes Court in Mumbai has announced a temporary suspension of its e-filing services due to the migration from the e-filing 2.0 module to the upgraded e-filing 3.0 module. This migration process will take place on the 7th, 8th, and 9th of August 2024, during which time the e-filing facility will be inaccessible to all stakeholders.

Official Notification

This update was communicated through an official circular (Office Circular No. G1 of 2024) dated 5th August 2024. The circular referenced a letter from the Registrar (Inspection-1) of the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay (Letter No. Insp-1,181 of 2024 dated 2nd August 2024). The Hon'ble Chief Justice has approved this essential upgrade, and the notice regarding the migration has been published on the official website of the Bombay High Court.

Affected Courts

The migration process affects both the Small Causes Court, Mumbai (Head Office), and its Bandra Branch. During this period, the e-filing system will be entirely offline, and no electronic submissions will be accepted.

Alternative Filing Procedure

To ensure that legal processes continue without interruption, the Small Causes Court has provided an alternative filing option. Parties and legal representatives are instructed to file their cases physically at the court. In addition to the physical documents, soft copies of the filed cases must be provided. These soft copies will later be uploaded into the document uploading module of the Case Information System (CIS).

Key Dates to Remember

  • E-Filing Unavailable: 7th, 8th, and 9th August 2024
  • Physical Filing: Available during the above dates with mandatory soft copy submission

Conclusion

This temporary unavailability of the e-filing facility is a necessary step in upgrading the court’s digital infrastructure to the e-filing 3.0 module. All concerned parties are advised to take note of these dates and make the necessary arrangements for physical filing. For further updates, stakeholders should regularly check the official website of the Bombay High Court.
