Successful Resolution of Murder Case in Nandkumar Police Station Area: 03 Arrests Made

Date: 24-07-2024 In the Nandkumar police station area, the police successfully resolved a murder case by arresting three suspects. During the operation, three mobile phones and one country-made pistol were recovered from the accused.

Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Mr. Sunil Kumar Jha, and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nandkumar, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, the Nandkumar Police registered a case under FIR No. 361/24, Section 103(1) B.N.S. Act. The arrested individuals are identified as 01- Liyakat, son of Nandu, resident of Amjipur village under Nandkumar police station, 02- Vikash, son of Dinesh, resident of Banarghat village under Nandkumar police station, and 03- Ritika, daughter of Ramesh, resident of Manipur village under Othiganj police station.

Incident Details:

On 20-07-2024, at around 1:00 PM, the Nandkumar Police received information that an elderly man named Vatsal Patel, aged approximately 77 years, had died in suspicious circumstances at his residence. Upon receiving the information, the local police, along with senior officers, immediately arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation. It was found that the deceased had injuries on his neck and head, inflicted by a sharp object. During the investigation, it was revealed that the deceased, Vatsal Patel, originally from Manipur village under the jurisdiction of Othiganj police station, had been living in the Nandkumar area for some time after building a house there. The police sent the body for post-mortem and initiated the investigation.

During interrogation, one of the accused, Ritika, daughter of Ramesh, confessed to the crime, revealing that the deceased was her uncle. She stated that after her father was forced to leave the house due to a family dispute, her uncle took advantage of the situation and began an illicit relationship with her mother. Ritika also disclosed that Vatsal had sold ancestral property without informing other family members, which angered her. As a result, she planned the murder and, along with the other accused, executed the crime on 18-07-2024.

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Nandkumar, and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nandkumar, a team was formed to arrest the accused. On 24-07-2024, the police successfully apprehended the three accused—Liyakat, Vikash, and Ritika—and recovered three mobile phones and one country-made pistol from their possession.

Interrogation Details:

During the interrogation, Ritika confessed that Vatsal's illicit relationship with her mother and the selling of ancestral property were the primary motives behind the murder. The other accused, Liyakat and Vikash, admitted to assisting Ritika in executing the crime.

The police have registered a case against the three accused under FIR No. 361/24, Section 103(1) B.N.S. Act. Further legal action is being taken against them.
