Step 1: Determine Your Eligibility

Before applying for a new LPG connection, ensure you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • You must not already have an LPG connection from any PSU oil companies or a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection from any CGD company in your household.

Step 2: Gather Required Documents

You will need to submit proof of identity and proof of residence. Acceptable documents include:

Proof of Identity:

  • Voter Identification Card
  • Passport
  • Driving License
  • PAN Card
  • Any photo ID issued by the state government
  • Aadhaar Number allotment letter

Proof of Address:

  • Voter Identification Card
  • Ration Card
  • Electricity Bill (within the last three months)
  • Telephone Bill (within the last three months)
  • Employers Certificate
  • Rent Receipt (last two months)
  • Flat allotment letter

Note: In Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, a ration card is mandatory for a new connection.

Step 3: Fill Out the KYC Form

Download the KYC form from the Bharatgas website here and fill it out completely. Ensure all details are accurate and legible.

Step 4: Submit the Application

Approach the nearest Bharatgas distributor catering to your area with the completed KYC form and required documents. The distributor will verify your documents and process your application.

Step 5: De-duplication Process

The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) will perform a de-duplication check to ensure no existing domestic LPG connection in the same household. Once cleared, your connection will be processed.

Step 6: Payment of Security Deposit and Charges

You will need to pay the security deposit and service charges as follows:

Security Deposit:

  • 14.2 Kg Cylinder: ₹1450 (₹1150 for North Eastern states)
  • Domestic Pressure Regulator (DPR): ₹150
  • 5 Kg Cylinder: ₹350

Service Charges:

  • Mechanic visit charge: ₹50-₹70 (varies by city population)
  • Installation/Demonstration: ₹35-₹45 (varies by city population)

Step 7: Installation and Demonstration

Once the formalities are completed, the Bharatgas connection will be released to you. The distributor's staff will visit your kitchen to install the connection and demonstrate how to use the LPG equipment safely.
