Detailed Process Flow for Registering an Establishment under the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958

Applicability:

• This process applies to establishments within the municipal limits of Punjab, India.

Process:

Gather Required Documents:

• Form F: Application for registration (download: http://pblabour.gov.in/Content/documents/pdf/Procedures/Registration_Forms_under_Shop_Act.pdf)
• Form A: Particulars of the establishment (download: http://pblabour.gov.in/Content/documents/pdf/Procedures/Registration_Forms_under_Shop_Act.pdf)
• Form B: Particulars of employees (download: http://pblabour.gov.in/Content/documents/pdf/Procedures/Registration_Forms_under_Shop_Act.pdf)
• Additional information as stated in Section 13(1) of the Act, such as:
  • Employer and manager names
  • Establishment postal address
  • Establishment name (if any)
  • Number of employees

Submit Application:

• Submit the completed forms and information in triplicate to the concerned Labour Inspector of the area.
• You can also apply online at http://www.pbshops.org/.

Verification and Registration:

• The Inspector will verify the application and documents within 15 days.
• Upon successful verification, they will issue a registration certificate.

Renewal:

• Registration certificates expire on March 31st every year.
• You have a 30-day grace period for renewal.

Timeline:

• Registration certificate issuance: Within 15 days of receiving a complete application (Rule 13(1)).
