Press Note: Maharashtra Police Recruitment 2022-2023 Update

The Maharashtra State Government has successfully completed the recruitment process for various police posts that began on 3rd August 2022. This press note provides detailed information on the status of the recruitment for police constables, traffic police constables, bandsmen, state reserve police force, and jail constables.

Recruitment Summary:

Police Constables:

  • Total Posts: 1,15,500
  • Recruitment completed across 45 districts and Commissionerates.
  • Appointment letters issued to 73,023 candidates.
  • Training has commenced in Mumbai.

Traffic Police Constables:

  • Total Posts: 1,668
  • Recruitment completed across 26 districts.
  • Appointment letters issued to 1,124 candidates.
  • Training has started in Mumbai and Pune.

Bandsmen Police Constables:

  • Total Posts: 64
  • Recruitment completed in 14 districts and Commissionerates.
  • Appointment letters issued to 17 candidates.
  • Training has commenced in Mumbai.

State Reserve Police Force (SRPF):

  • Total Posts: 4,346
  • Recruitment completed across 11 battalions.
  • Appointment letters issued to all selected candidates.
  • Training has begun.

Jail Police Constables:

  • Total Posts: 5,800
  • Recruitment process is ongoing.

Additional Information:

The recruitment process saw a total of 1,08,674 candidates being selected for various posts.

Appointment letters for 99,184 candidates have been issued, and training has commenced.

Selected candidates are advised to report to the District Magistrate's office immediately for further instructions.

Key vacancies filled include:

  • Administrative Duties: 2,600
  • Financial Department: 1,234
  • Transport: 932
  • Maintenance: 825
  • Band: 325
  • General: 324
  • and others.

Training for all selected candidates is expected to be completed by September 2024.
