Gorakhpur, India (July 7, 2024): Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of Gita Press in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where he lauded the institution as a "living faith" and a guiding light for humanity.
During his address, PM Modi emphasized the profound impact of Gita Press, not only as a printing press but as a spiritual beacon for countless individuals. He remarked that Gita Press represents compassion, karma, knowledge, and scientific research, drawing inspiration from the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the significance of Gita Press completing its 100-year journey at a time when India is celebrating 75 years of independence, underscoring the institution's national character and contribution to society.
On this historic occasion, PM Modi announced that the government had conferred the Gandhi Peace Prize upon Gita Press, acknowledging its outstanding contributions towards social, economic, and political transformation through non-violent and Gandhian methods.
