New Delhi, India – January 2, 2024: The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has officially released the schedule for the National Lok Adalats to be held in 2024. In a circular issued by Member Secretary Santosh Snehi Mann, the dates for the four Lok Adalats have been set as follows:
The announcement follows a successful run of Lok Adalats in previous years, which have shown a significant number of cases being disposed of. The statistics for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023 reveal a commendable effort in resolving both pre-litigation and pending cases. In 2023 alone, the Lok Adalats disposed of 673.78 lakh pre-litigation cases and 136.52 lakh pending cases, summing up to a total of 810.30 lakh cases.
The framework for conducting the Lok Adalats will adhere to the established procedures and regulations, ensuring that cases are referred and pre-conciliation sittings are held to facilitate negotiations and settlements before the scheduled Lok Adalat dates.
This proactive measure by NALSA underscores its commitment to providing accessible and efficient legal services to the public, aiming to resolve disputes amicably and swiftly.
