In a groundbreaking development, a team from Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology, Chennai, has introduced a cutting-edge smart wearable device designed to enhance women’s safety using iBeacon technology. This innovation, detailed in the International Journal of Advanced Research in Science, Communication, and Technology (IJARSCT), promises to revolutionize how women can protect themselves in potentially dangerous situations.
The need for improved safety measures for women has been a growing concern in recent years. This new device addresses that concern by utilizing advanced technologies like iBeacon, BLE-Wi-Fi, and AI controllers. The smart wearable is designed to automatically detect emergencies and trigger immediate alerts, ensuring that help is on the way as quickly as possible.
When the accelerometer sensor detects an emergency, such as a situation of sexual harassment or physical danger, the device automatically sends an SMS and call alert to predefined emergency contacts. The beacon module continuously transmits the victim’s location, which can be monitored via a cloud server. This ensures that the victim can be tracked even without an active Wi-Fi connection.
This wearable device is designed not only to provide protection but also to empower women by giving them a reliable tool to defend themselves. By incorporating advanced technology into a simple wearable, the device ensures that women are never truly alone, even in the most isolated situations.
This innovative solution has been published in Volume 4, Issue 1 of the International Journal of Advanced Research in Science, Communication, and Technology (IJARSCT). The paper, authored by Janani S, Mrs. L. Jibanpriya Devi, Mrs. M. R. Mahalakshmi, and Mr. V. Parthiban, showcases the team’s dedication to addressing critical societal issues through technology.
