In a significant move to enhance healthcare services for its faculty, staff, and students, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saksham Hospital in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This partnership aims to provide comprehensive medical treatment at CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) rates, ensuring access to quality healthcare for IIT Roorkee's beneficiaries.

IIT Roorkee and Saksham Hospital Partnership

Comprehensive Medical Services

The MoU between IIT Roorkee and Saksham Hospital outlines that the hospital will offer indoor treatment to the institute's beneficiaries at CGHS rates. This includes a variety of medical specialties such as general medicine, surgery, ENT, and urology. Outpatient consultations will be available at a nominal fee of Rs. 150, making healthcare more affordable for the IIT community.

  • Indoor Treatment at CGHS Rates: The hospital will adhere to CGHS rates for most treatments. Where CGHS rates are not available, Saksham Hospital will apply its standard rates.
  • Priority Services: Beneficiaries of IIT Roorkee will receive priority in outpatient consultations and hospital admissions, ensuring timely medical attention.

Verification and Billing Procedures

To maintain transparency and proper identification, Saksham Hospital will verify the identity of IIT Roorkee beneficiaries through their medical booklets, which include a photograph and are issued by the institute.

  • Clear Billing: The hospital is required to provide clear and detailed billing for all treatments, with signatures from both the beneficiary and an authorized signatory from the hospital.
  • Advance Payment: Beneficiaries will need to clear their bills before discharge, as IIT Roorkee will not be responsible for direct payment of these charges.
