How to Use the MCD Portal for Registration of Birth and Death Events
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has provided a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for citizens to register birth and death events online. This guide is intended to help users navigate the MCD portal efficiently to complete these registrations.
Getting Started with Citizen Login
Open Your Browser:
Citizen Login:
- Click on “Citizen Login.”
- If your mobile number is already registered, you can log in directly. Otherwise, click “Sign Up” at the bottom of the page to register.
Registration:
- Fill in all mandatory fields on the registration page and submit.
- After successful registration, you will be redirected to the Citizen Login page.
- Enter your registered mobile number, get the OTP, and log in.
Access Online Services:
- After logging in, click on “Registration of Birth & Death” to access your account and view any previous birth or death registrations.
Searching for Legacy Records
If you need to search for older records (before 2008, as not all data has been digitized), you can use the legacy data search feature:
For Birth Certificates:
- Search using either Registration No. or a combination of Date of Birth, Gender, Mother’s Name, and Father’s Name.
- After submitting the details, if the data is available, it will be displayed.
- Options like “View and Download Certificate,” “Add Name,” and “Correct Details” will be available after the certificate is generated by MCD.
For Death Certificates:
- Similar to birth certificates, you can search using Registration No. or other mandatory details like Date of Death, Gender, and Parent’s Names.
- Upon successful search, you can view and download the certificate or correct details if necessary.
If Record is Not Found:
- In case you cannot find the record, you may need to inquire with the Central Record Room (CRR) of MCD.
Registering Birth and Death Events
Birth Registration:
- Ensure you have all required documents ready (ID proof, affidavit, SDM approval, etc.) before proceeding.
- Fill in the Birth Registration form with all mandatory fields and submit it.
- After submission, you will be directed to the payment gateway for fee submission if applicable.
- Once the payment is processed, the application will be sent to the Sub-registrar/Registrar for approval. You will receive notifications via SMS and email.
- Upon approval, the birth certificate will be available for download in the dashboard under the Action tab.
Death Registration:
- Keep all required documents like ID proof, cremation/burial slip, MLR, etc., ready.
- Complete the Death Registration form and submit it.
- You will be redirected to the payment gateway if any late fees are applicable.
- Following payment, the application will be sent for approval. Notifications of approval or rejection will be sent via SMS and email.
- After approval, the death certificate can be downloaded from the dashboard.
Still Birth Registration:
- Fill in the Still Birth Registration form and submit it.
- Attach any required documents and proceed to the payment gateway if applicable.
- The application will be reviewed by MCD officials, and upon approval, the certificate can be downloaded.
Adding or Correcting Names on Certificates
