How to Use the Homologation Portal: A Comprehensive User Manual

If you're involved in vehicle manufacturing or distribution, you might need to use the Homologation Portal managed by the National Informatics Centre under the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology. This guide aims to help you understand how to navigate and utilize the portal effectively. Whether you're an admin, a master creator, or an inventory uploader, this manual will provide clear instructions to ensure you can perform your tasks smoothly.

This manual is designed for users of the Homologation Portal who may not be familiar with its functions or the importance of certain processes. It is especially useful for:

  • Admin Users: Responsible for managing other users and overseeing the portal's operations.
  • Master Creators: Users who handle the uploading of certificates and management of master data.
  • Inventory Uploaders: Individuals tasked with entering and managing inventory details.

Overview of Portal Features

1. Login and Dashboard

  • Login: Access the portal via this link. Log in using your credentials. If you’re logging in for the first time or need to reset your password, follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Dashboard: Once logged in, the dashboard provides an overview of your tasks. Click on various links to navigate through the portal’s functionalities.

2. Admin Functions

Admins have several key responsibilities:

  • User Creation: Navigate to User Management > Create New User. Fill in the details and save to create new user accounts (Master Creator or Inventory Uploader).
  • Password Reset: Go to User Management > Reset User Password. Select the user and enter the new password to reset it.
  • Forgot Password: If you forget your password, use the Forgot Password link on the login page. Enter the required details to receive a new password.

3. Master Creator Functions

Master Creators handle the following:

  • PDF Upload: Upload Type Approval Certificates by going to TAC > Upload TAC. Fill in the details and upload the certificate in PDF format.
  • Master Entries: Create, edit, and view model and color details under Masters. Use Add New or Edit to modify existing entries.

4. Inventory Uploader Functions

Inventory Uploaders manage vehicle inventory details:

  • Upload Inventory: Go to Vehicle Inventory > Upload. Ensure the file is in text format with the required fields separated by |. Example format: ABC|CH677777|EN1234|09/2014|1|NA|NA.
  • View/Delete Inventory: To view or delete inventory details, navigate to Vehicle Inventory > Modify. Click on the file name to access the record details.

5. Additional Functions

  • Ex-Showroom Details: Add, edit, or upload showroom price details through Ex-Showroom > Master, Upload, or Download.
  • Profile Management: Update your profile or change your password via Profile > Update Profile or Change Password.
