How to Update Payment Allocation in the UAE FTA eServices
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the United Arab Emirates allows you to update your payment allocation on their eServices portal. This feature helps you define how incoming payments are applied to settle your outstanding tax liabilities and administrative penalties.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to update your payment allocation in the UAE FTA eServices:
Before you begin:
- Make sure you have an active FTA eServices account and login credentials.
- Understand the three available payment allocation options:
- Tax Liability Cleared First (Default): Payments go towards clearing outstanding tax liabilities (oldest first), followed by administrative penalties (oldest first).
- Administrative Penalties Cleared First: Payments go towards clearing outstanding administrative penalties (oldest first), followed by tax liabilities (oldest first).
- Oldest Liability Cleared First: Payments settle liabilities in chronological order, regardless of whether they are tax or penalties.
Steps:
- Login to FTA eServices: Go to the FTA eServices website and enter your login credentials.
- Navigate to "My Payments": Once logged in, locate the "My Payments" tab and click on it.
- Choose your Payment Adjustment Type: Under "My Payments," you'll see the three payment allocation options mentioned earlier. Select the option that best suits your preference for settling outstanding liabilities.
- Update Allocation: Click the "Update" button next to the chosen payment allocation option. This will confirm your selection and update your account settings.
