How to Reset Your Password Using the GUID File on Local GUI or by Answering Validation Questions
If you're using an NVR from the –E/-K/-I series with V3.4.90 firmware or a Turbo 3.0 DVR (DS-HG/HQ/HUHI-F series) with V3.4.80 firmware, there's a new, convenient way to reset your device password. This guide will walk you through the steps to reset your password either by using the GUID file or by answering validation questions.
Method 1: Reset Password Using the GUID File
Step 1: Export the GUID File
- Ensure you have the current admin password.
- Export the GUID file in advance, before you forget your password. This file will be essential if you need to reset your password later.
- Remember, if the admin password is changed or if the GUID file has already been used, the file will become invalid.
Step 2: Access the Password Reset Interface
- If you forget your device password, click on the "Forget password" option to access the new password resetting interface.
Step 3: Import the GUID File
- Locate the exported GUID file and import it into the interface.
- Follow the prompts to reset your password.
Method 2: Reset Password by Answering Validation Questions
Step 1: Set Validation Questions
- Prior to any password issues, set up validation questions. These questions will be used later to reset your password if needed.
Step 2: Access the Password Reset Interface
- Click on "Forget password" if you’ve forgotten your password to enter the password resetting interface.
Step 3: Answer the Validation Questions
