Forgetting your DVR unlock pattern or password can be frustrating, but resetting it is straightforward with the Optiview Mobile app. Whether you've forgotten the pattern or need to change your password, this guide will walk you through the process step by step, ensuring you can regain access to your DVR quickly and securely.
Forgot Pattern?
If you've forgotten your unlock pattern, start by clicking on the "Forgot Pattern" button on your DVR.
Forgot Password?
On the system login screen, click the "Forgot Password" icon to access the Reset Password menu.
Note: You may be required to provide a valid email address, serial number, or other information to verify your identity. This ensures a secure password reset process.
You can reset your password via two methods: QR code or security questions. Here’s how to proceed with each.
Download the Optiview Mobile App
Download and install the Optiview Mobile app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Open the App
Launch the app and click on the "More" option at the bottom of the screen. Select "Reset Device Password."
Scan the QR Code
The app will request permission to use your camera. Allow this and scan the QR code displayed on your DVR.
Receive Security Code
An email will be sent to the address associated with your DVR. This email will contain a security code valid for 24 hours.
Enter Security Code
Enter the security code into the DVR’s Reset Password menu and press "Next."
Create a New Password
Type in a new password (8 to 32 characters) and confirm it. Avoid using special characters. Save your new password.
Login
Use your new password to log in to your DVR.
Select Security Questions
On the Reset Password menu, choose "Security Questions" from the Reset Type drop-down menu.
Answer Security Questions
Enter the answers to the security questions you set during the initial setup.
Create a New Password
Similar to the QR code method, create and confirm a new password. Save it to your device.
Login
Use your new password to log in to your DVR.
