Losing or encountering defects in your LPG cylinder or regulator can be inconvenient, but the replacement process is straightforward if you follow the correct steps. This guide outlines the procedures for replacing lost or defective LPG cylinders and regulators, including the necessary documentation and tariffs involved.
Replacement of Lost Cylinder/Regulator
Provide an Undertaking:
- Submit an Undertaking as per the prescribed format on plain paper to your distributor.
Established Cases of Theft:
- Cylinders:
- If your cylinder is lost due to theft, you must provide an FIR (First Information Report) and a non-traceable certificate from the police.
- Replacement Tariff: The cylinder will be replaced at Normal Tariff.
- Regulators:
- Similar to cylinders, if the regulator is stolen, provide an FIR and a non-traceable certificate.
- Replacement Tariff: The regulator will be replaced at Normal Tariff.
- Without FIR:
- If you cannot produce an FIR, the replacement will be at Penal Tariff.
Replacement of Defective Cylinder/Regulator
Normal Wear and Tear:
- Regulators:
- Issues such as a broken regulating knob or broken ring will be replaced free of charge.
- Other Damages:
- Regulators with a broken or damaged body, broken outlet nozzle, missing top or ring, or those that have been opened and re-riveted will be replaced at Normal Tariff.
