How to Download e-Aadhaar Online
In India, the Aadhaar card issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) serves as a crucial proof of identity and address for residents. With the advancement of technology, residents can now conveniently download an electronic version of their Aadhaar card, known as e-Aadhaar, from the UIDAI website. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of downloading e-Aadhaar online.
Step 1: Access the UIDAI e-Aadhaar Download Portal
Open your web browser and navigate to the UIDAI e-Aadhaar download portal using the following URL: UIDAI e-Aadhaar Download Portal.
Step 2: Select Aadhaar Number, Enrollment ID, or Virtual ID
- Choose the appropriate option to download e-Aadhaar: Aadhaar Number, Enrollment ID (EID), or Virtual ID (VID).
Step 3: Enter Required Details
- Aadhaar Number: If you selected Aadhaar Number, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number in the provided field.
- Enrollment ID Number: If you selected Enrollment ID Number, enter your 28-digit Enrollment ID (EID) number.
- Virtual ID Number: If you selected Virtual ID Number, enter your 16-digit Virtual ID (VID) number.
Step 4: Enter Captcha and Request OTP
- Enter the security captcha code displayed on the screen into the designated field.
- Click on the "Send OTP" button to request a One-Time Password (OTP) to your registered mobile number.
Step 5: Validate OTP and Download e-Aadhaar
- Once you receive the OTP on your registered mobile number, enter it into the specified field on the portal.
- Click on the "Verify OTP" button to validate the OTP.
- After successful validation, click on the "Download Aadhaar" button to download the e-Aadhaar PDF file.
Step 6: Open and Print e-Aadhaar
- Open the downloaded e-Aadhaar PDF file using a PDF reader application.
- To open the file, you may need to enter a password. The password for opening e-Aadhaar is the first four letters of your name in capital letters followed by your birth year (YYYY). For example, if your name is "John Doe" and your birth year is 1990, the password would be "JOHN1990".
- Once the e-Aadhaar is opened, you can print it out for your records or use it as a valid proof of identity and address.
