How to Change Your Trinity Health Network Password

Changing your Trinity Health network password is an essential process to maintain security and comply with the organization's policy. Follow these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth password change process.

Overview

Per policy, Trinity Health colleagues are required to change their Active Directory (AD) password every 180 days. This job aid outlines the procedures to change your password when you know your current one.

Password Change Best Practices

  • Close Open Applications: Always close all open applications before attempting a password change. Do not disconnect from Connect VPN.
  • Wait Two Minutes for Password Sync: After the password change is complete, wait two minutes for the password to synchronize across systems.

Password Change Methods

Choose the password change method that best matches your situation:

Method 1: Azure Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) - Recommended

This method is recommended for its versatility and ease of use, applicable when connected to the Trinity Health Network on any device.

  1. Close Open Applications: Close any open applications before proceeding. Do not disconnect from Connect VPN.
  2. Open Microsoft Account Portal: Go to Microsoft Account Portal. To find your Trinity Health email/UPN, visit Find My UPN.
  3. Open Change Password Screen: On the profile Overview screen under Password, select Change Password.
  4. Enter New Password:
    • Enter your old password and new password.
    • Select Submit. Once the change is complete, the user profile screen will show.
    • If issues arise, contact the Service Desk or Tech Ops team for assistance.
  5. Lock Screen/Log in to Computer (if using Connect Portal VPN):
    • Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on your keyboard.
    • From the menu, select Lock.
    • Log in with the new password to update the password cached on the computer.

Method 2: Ctrl+Alt+Delete - Alternative Method

This method is suitable when connected to the Trinity Health Network using a Trinity-managed dedicated device.
