How to Apply for the Delhi Police Education Fund Scholarship

The Delhi Police Education Fund is designed to support the wards of Delhi Police personnel from the rank of Constables to Inspectors, including promotee ACsP and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). This fund provides scholarships for pursuing higher education. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply for this scholarship.

Step 1: Understand the Fund

The "Delhi Police Education Fund" aims to encourage the children of Delhi Police personnel to pursue higher education by providing scholarships.

Step 2: Eligibility Criteria

  • All promotee ACsP, non-gazette employees, and regular MTS of Delhi Police are eligible.
  • Only the first two children of a member are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Scholarships are available for academic, diploma, and professional courses recognized by the Government or affiliated institutions.

Step 3: Membership Process

  • Eligible personnel must fill out a declaration form (Annexure-A) to become members.
  • The form is added to the employee’s service record.
  • The recruiting District/Unit is responsible for obtaining these forms.

Step 4: Subscription Rates

  • Monthly subscription rates vary by rank:
    • ACP (Promotee): Rs. 200/-
    • Inspector: Rs. 150/-
    • SI, ASI: Rs. 150/-
    • Head Constable, Constable: Rs. 100/-
    • MTS: Rs. 60/-

Step 5: Application Process

  • Applications for scholarships should be submitted using the prescribed format (Annexure-D).
  • Include the following with your application:
    • Self-explanatory application
    • Copy of mark sheet (10th or 12th class)
    • Copy of fee receipt
    • Bonafide certificate from the College/Institution
  • The deadline for submission is 30th November each year.

Step 6: Scholarship Amounts

  • Scholarships are awarded based on the course and year of study.
    • Academic Courses: Rs. 15,000/-
    • Diploma Courses: Varies
    • Professional Courses: Varies
  • One-time scholarships are also available for students securing top positions in board exams.

Step 7: Special Considerations

  • Scholarships continue for the wards of retired members or those who die in service.
  • Physically handicapped or mentally retarded children receive 100% reimbursement of school fees up to 12th class.
  • No scholarships for correspondence courses or courses abroad.

Step 8: Administration and Fund Management

  • The fund is administered by a Central Committee and managed by a Central Committee.
  • Investments are made in safe and profitable government or PSU schemes.
  • An annual general body meeting is held to review and approve financial activities.
