How to Apply for a Forgotten Password on the AICTE Web Portal
If you've forgotten your password for the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Web Portal, follow these simple steps to reset it. This guide will help you navigate through the process to regain access to your account.
Steps to Apply for a Forgotten Password
Visit the AICTE Website
Access the Login Page
- On the AICTE homepage, click on the "Web Portal Login" button.
Proceed to Forgot Password
- On the login page, click on the "Forgot Password" link.
Submit the Forgot Password Request Form
- Fill out the Forgot Password Request Form with the required information.
- Note: Your User ID is not mandatory. For existing institutes, only the Permanent Institute ID is required. New institutes (those that received a Letter of Approval in the previous year) can enter the Current Application ID.
Service Request Number and Online Payment
- After submitting the form, a Service Request Number will be generated. Note down this number for future reference regarding your password reset request.
- Proceed to make an online payment using a credit card or debit card.
Submit the Affidavit
- Submit an affidavit as per the format provided in the Approval Process Handbook 2020-21 (Page 210) to the concerned Regional Office along with the necessary documents mentioned in the format.
Verification and New Credentials
- After successful verification of the affidavit by the Regional Officer, a new username and password will be sent to the institution’s registered email ID.

- Keep Service Request Number Handy: Always note down the Service Request Number for any future correspondence related to the forgot password issue.
- Affidavit Submission: Ensure that the affidavit is correctly filled out and submitted along with all necessary documents to avoid delays.
- Check Email Regularly: After submitting the request, regularly check your registered email for the new username and password.
