Hamirpur Police Secures Life Imprisonment for Three Convicted in Murder Case

Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh: In a significant achievement, the Hamirpur Police, under the guidance of the Additional Director General of Police (Prosecution) Shri Chandraprakash Goswami and Investigating Officer Sub-Inspector Angad Pratap Singh, successfully secured life imprisonment for three accused in a murder case. The court also imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on each convict.

The case, registered under FIR No. 739/2008 at Jarriya Police Station, involved charges under Sections 302/34 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The conviction is a result of meticulous investigation and strong prosecution efforts led by the police and legal team.

Convicts and Punishment

The convicts who have been sentenced to life imprisonment and fined ₹30,000 collectively include:

  1. Devendra Lodhi - Son of Shri Babu Ram Lodhi
  2. Harsahay Darji - Son of Ramkumar Darji
  3. Pramod Kumar - Son of Jagaram Chamar

All three hail from the village of Pathuri under the jurisdiction of Jarriya Police Station in Hamirpur district.

Background and Legal Proceedings

The case dates back to 2008, and the conviction is the result of relentless efforts by the police and the prosecution to ensure justice. The trial was conducted in the District Court of Hamirpur, where the evidence and witness testimonies were presented in a timely and effective manner, leading to the conviction.

The operation was part of the ongoing "Operation Conviction," initiated by the Uttar Pradesh Police to ensure that justice is served in a time-bound and efficient manner.
