In a commendable celebration of youth leadership and dedication, the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, awarded the prestigious Rajya Puraskar to 35 Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers on the 9th of August, 2024. The event, which took place amidst much enthusiasm, saw participants from Dimapur, Kohima, and Wokha being honored for their exemplary contributions to the Bharat Scouts & Guides movement.
The Rajya Puraskar, also known as the Governor’s Award, represents the highest accolade that Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers can achieve at the state level. It serves as a testament to their hard work, commitment, and unwavering spirit in serving the community. During the ceremony, 50 additional Scouts and Guides from Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, and Wokha were also recognized with the Tritiya Sopan, the highest rank that can be earned at the district level.
Governor La Ganesan, in his address, emphasized the critical role that the Bharat Scouts & Guides movement plays in shaping the character and potential of young individuals. He highlighted the significance of the 8th of August, marking the 82nd anniversary of the Quit India Movement, and urged the young attendees to draw inspiration from the selflessness and bravery of India’s freedom fighters. He called upon them to integrate these values into their daily lives and continue to contribute positively to society.
The event underscored the rigorous training and testing that these young leaders have undergone to earn their respective awards. The Rajya Puraskar recipients are now set to aim for even higher honors at the national level, furthering their journey of personal growth and community service.
