Gorakhpur, 09 August 2024: In a significant operation aimed at curbing the illegal trade of intoxicants, the Gorakhpur Police have arrested two individuals for possession of illicit liquor and chemicals. The operation was conducted under the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Gorakhpur, as part of a broader campaign to crack down on illegal activities related to drug trafficking and smuggling in the district.

Batasha Devi, wife of Badalram Chauhan, resident of Jungle Dumri No. 1 Tola, Aurahiya, Gulriha, Gorakhpur.
Pooja Devi, wife of Damthlesh Chauhan, resident of Jungle Dumri No. 1 Tola, Aurahiya, Gulriha, Gorakhpur.
The arrests were made following a coordinated effort by the Gulriha Police under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, City, and the area supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gorakhnath. The operation was led by Inspector Anjani Kumar Tiwari, Station Officer of Gulriha Police Station, with the assistance of the following team members:
The seized items and the arrested individuals have been booked under FIR No. 736/2024, registered under Section 274 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 60 of the Excise Act at Gulriha Police Station, Gorakhpur. Further legal action is being pursued to ensure that the accused face appropriate charges under the law.
