Election Committee Sets Course for RCBA Elections 2024

Hyderabad, 20th July 2024 — The Election Committee of the Rohini Court Bar Association (RCBA) held a crucial meeting today at 02:30 PM, chaired by Dr. Vijay Kumar Dahiya, the Hon'ble Chairman and Judge In-Charge of the Mediation Centre. This pivotal gathering was aimed at outlining the next steps for the forthcoming RCBA Elections 2024, in compliance with the directives issued by the Delhi High Court on 19th March 2024.

The meeting commenced with the acceptance of Mr. Sanjeev Bisla, Advocate, as a new committee member, replacing Mr. Davinder Pratap Singh. This change was necessitated by Mr. Singh's resignation, which was duly communicated to the Principal District & Sessions Judge of the North West District, Rohini.

The Committee unanimously agreed to proceed with the tasks mandated by the Delhi High Court's judgments in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 8106/2010 and WP 10363/2021. The tasks include:

  1. Verification of Declaration Forms: The Committee will verify all Declaration Forms submitted by RCBA members to ensure eligibility.
  2. Preparation of Tentative Voter List: A tentative list of eligible voters will be prepared and displayed for objections.
  3. Finalization of Voter List: After addressing any objections, the final list of voters will be published.

Detailed Procedures

The Election Committee emphasized the importance of adhering to strict guidelines for the submission and verification of Declaration Forms. The approved format, as per the Delhi High Court's mandate, includes several critical instructions:

  • Numbering and Completion: Each form must be clearly numbered and filled out completely with the member's signature in blue ink.
  • Photograph Requirements: Members must provide a recent, original photograph in full robes, signed in a specific manner.
  • Supporting Documents: Copies of RCBA or other Bar Association ID cards, BCD ID cards, and proof of appearances for voting rights must be attached.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Only advocates enrolled with the RCBA by 31st July 2023 and up-to-date with their subscriptions are eligible to vote. Additionally, those enrolled after 2011 must submit their All India Bar Examination passing certificate.
