Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for the 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry Scheme involves multiple stages:

Shortlisting Based on JEE (Main) Rank:

  • The Naval Headquarters will shortlist candidates based on their JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) 2024.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email and SMS.

SSB Interviews:

  • Candidates will undergo SSB interviews at Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam from Sep 2024 onwards.
  • Call-up letters for SSB interviews will be sent via email/SMS. Candidates must download their call-up letter from the recruitment portal.

Medical Examination:

  • Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination as per the guidelines available on the Indian Navy website. There are no relaxations in medical standards.

Merit List:

  • A merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks. Candidates declared medically fit will be appointed subject to police verification and character verification.

Training

Selected candidates will undergo four years of B.Tech training in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The course is conducted under the aegis of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Training includes:

  • All training costs, including books and reading material, are borne by the Indian Navy.
  • Cadets will receive entitled clothing and messing.
